Lets get spooky! This pack bundles together a collection of shader-powered effects designed to bring eerie, unsettling, and otherworldly vibes straight into your game. With these tools, you can tell digital or analogue horror stories, light candles that flicker and warp, make characters fade into ghosts, and even unleash crawling ooze across the screen.
Features!
VHS Distortion + Digital Glitch Effects
This reworked VHS shader combines multiple retro horror staples into one. It includes chromatic aberration, scanlines, static, noise, and adjustable VHS warps—all in a single adjustable. Apply it to your camera to warp an entire scene at once. It also incorporates digital glitch effects, letting you create analogue nightmares or corrupted digital terrors. Includes 20 adjustable parameters for full control.
Candle Flicker + Warp
The candle effects have two major components, the illumination and flicker, and the candle warp. Combine with a few frames of animation and you can create nice, reactively bending candles and flames, and have them emit a halo of illumination. Comes with 20 customization options!
Ghostification (Lucify)
The Ghostifcation effect (aka Lucify) makes your characters and objects go ghost. The color and depth of transparency is easily customizable, and it comes with an invert mode to flip the application of color and transparency
The Ooze
The pack comes with an ooze effect which you can adjust the shape and speed of. This pack includes a transition version, and a number of other wipe and adjust version. The color is customizable, and has 12 other adjustable options to get the right look.
Files included:
- MVNSPFX.rpy: Contains the shader code and effect registrations. Place this in your game folder.
- MVNSpookyTemplates.rpy: Includes effect templates to get you started quickly. Customize these for your project’s unique needs. Place in your game folder as well.
Instructions:
Download the pack and add both RPY files to your game folder. Use the included templates as a base to apply effects, then tweak the many adjustable parameters to suit your project’s atmosphere.
