What is this?
This is an useful little pack that lets you color swap and retone your backgrounds, characters, UIs, and other graphics in Ren'Py by applying a color remap.
This pack contains 14 premade color maps:
- RGBNeon gives everything a vibrant and dramatic shift.
- RGBNightvision applys a monochrome green and black. Great for mascots that hang out on your wrist.
- RGBPastel apples a light color shift, great when mixed with other effects.
- RGBHeat applies a red monochromatic shift. It's like Sepia, but not.
- RGBDusty mutes the vibrancy of all colors.
- RGBUnderwater is a blue monochromatic shift. Great for aquarium scenes.
- RGBLava is a bright yellow and red chromatic shift, light colors turn yellow and darker tones turn red.
- RGBInvert inverts red and greens and lights and darks. Use dramatic stings and vine booms with it sparingly.
- RGBMetal applies a sliding desaturation. At high strengths, produces stylish color shifts.
- RGBDream applies a lighter version of the default map.
- RGBCold applies a spectrum of cold colors.
- RGBFire applies a spectrum of hot colors.
- RGBAlien applies a dramatic chromatic shift with a patterned effect.
- RGBGlitch applies a chaotic color shift warping otherwise organized aesthetics into a chaotic mess.
You also get a template so you can make your own! Wow!
What’s it for?
Slap it on backgrounds, characters, whole scenes—whatever.
Want a dreamy flashback filter? Done.
Want your love interest to radiate toxic glitch energy? Also done.
Need to simulate alien hallucination goo? Donezo.
What are these files?
- An image folder zip, containing the premade RGB maps for you to use.
- EZRGB.rpy, which contains the shader code itself.
- EZRGB_Transforms.rpy, which is where you'll want to be most of the time. It contains the transform definitions you can use to apply these effects.
Instructions:
Unzip and drop the the files in your Ren’Py project's game folder folder. Use the included transforms(in EZRGB_Transforms.rpy) just like you would use any other. For custom maps, use the RGBCustom transform, and include a path to your map and the strength with it. eg. "at RGBCustom("images\mycustommap.png",1.0)" 1,0 is 100%, 0.5 is 50%. 2.0 is 200%, etc. No additional code or transform writing required!
